NCN OSUN STATE COMMAND WELCOMES STUDENTS BACK TO SCHOOL, INTENSIFIES CHILD PROTECTION OUTREACH WITH SCHOOL SENSITISATION AND BOOK DISTRIBUTION
The Nigeria Cadet Network, Osun State Command, under the purposeful leadership of Aux. Commander Adegboyega Samuel, warmly welcomes students, teachers, parents and the entire school community back to a new academic session.
As schools reopen across the State, the Command calls on students to approach the new session with renewed commitment, discipline, courage and a strong determination to achieve academic and personal excellence.
Beyond welcoming students back to the classroom, the NCN Osun State Command is set to intensify its ongoing child protection intervention, the “Educate to Protect” project, through a renewed school-to-school outreach across the State.
The initiative reflects the Command’s commitment to promoting safer learning environments and equipping children with the knowledge, confidence and awareness required to protect themselves from abuse, exploitation and other forms of vulnerability.
Through the school visits, trained personnel and facilitators will engage students in age-appropriate sensitisation sessions covering child abuse prevention, personal safety, appropriate and inappropriate touch, recognising warning signs, speaking up, reporting concerns and seeking help from trusted adults and appropriate authorities.
As part of the outreach, the Command will also facilitate the distribution of Educate to Protect educational books and learning materials to students. The materials are designed to reinforce the lessons delivered during the sensitisation sessions and provide children with practical information they can revisit and share appropriately with others.
The NCN recognises that child protection cannot be achieved by one institution alone. It requires the collective responsibility of parents, guardians, teachers, school administrators, government institutions, security agencies, community leaders and every responsible member of society.
The Command therefore encourages schools and stakeholders across Osun State to embrace and support initiatives that place the safety, dignity, wellbeing and future of every child at the centre of our collective responsibility.
As the new academic session begins, NCN Osun State Command remains committed to its core values of discipline, leadership, service, community engagement and responsible citizenship, while continuing to contribute meaningfully to the development and protection of young people.
The Command wishes all students a safe, productive and successful academic session and urges them to remain focused, disciplined and courageous throughout the term.
Every child deserves to learn.
Every child deserves to be protected.
Every child deserves to be heard.
Together, Let Us Educate to Protect.
