Nigeria Cadet Network Osun State Command Joins Hands with Nigerian Youth Congress in Celebrating United Nation International Day of Education


In a collaborative effort to champion the significance of education in fostering lasting peace, the Nigeria Cadet Network Osun State Command lead by Aux. Amb. Lt. Col. Adegboyega Samuel O. and the Nigerian Youth Congress lead by Comrade Akinbode Olakolupo came together to celebrate the United Nations International Day of Education under the theme "Learning for Everlasting Peace."


The commemorative event unfolded on Wednesday 24th January, 2024 at Ilesa Grammar School, attracting a diverse and enthusiastic audience eager to engage in activities that underscored the transformative power of education.


The event was filled with enthusiasm as dignitaries and stakeholders including Osun First Lady, Erelu Ngozi Adeleke, the wife of the Chief of Staff Alhaja Balikis Akinleye, the wife of the Speaker Princess Monsurat Egbedun, SUBEB Chairman Hon Ibukun Fadipe, Commissioner for Education, Chief Whip of Osun State House of Assembly, Owaloko and others


The rich cultural tapestry of Osun State "Ijesa" was showcased through lively performances, traditional dances, music and exhibitions, highlighting the commitment of the community to education, distribution of free books to all the participants, chants and award presentation are also included.


Both organizations aimed at advancing educational opportunities for youth. These initiatives include scholarship programs, mentorship opportunities, and community-based projects designed to amplify the impact of education on peacebuilding.


The announced initiatives underscored the commitment to empowering youth through education, recognizing them as agents of change and peace within their communities.


The celebration served as a beacon, illuminating the profound connection between education and enduring peace, inspiring a collective commitment to building a brighter and harmonious future.
